Welcome!

St. Raphael of Brooklyn Orthodox Church is a growing Christian community of people from various ethnic and social backgrounds sharing a common commitment to the Lord, each other, and the Apostolic Faith. We warmly welcome all families, couples, and individuals who are looking for a deeper experience of the salvation offered in Jesus Christ. Come and see!

Upcoming Events

On November 5th we will be having a pot luck luncheon in celebration of our Patronal feast, St. Raphael of Brooklyn.  Drinks will be provided.   All are welcome!

On December 3rd immediately after Divine Liturgy we will be having a cleaning and polishing day of the altar items (during fellowship time) in preparation for the Nativity. Bring your polishing cloths, and work shirts. Please join us for this special time to see up close, touch and learn about these sacred items and help to prepare them for the arrival of our new born King!

It is with great sadness that we at St. Raphael announce the falling asleep of our dear friend James Briggs.  Jim was a founding member of St. Raphael of Brooklyn and gave not only of his time and talents but was instrumental in the life of our church.  His chanting voice carried us through many liturgies and we will miss not only his voice,  but his love, friendship and humility.  Jim loved animals and music.  He was beloved by all of us.  May his memory be eternal.

What is the Orthodox Church?

“The Orthodox Christian Church is evangelical, but not Protestant.
It is orthodox, but not Jewish. It is catholic, but not Roman.
It is not denominational, it is pre-denominational.
It has believed, taught, preserved, defended, and died for the
Faith of the Apostles since the Day of Pentecost nearly 2,000 years ago.”
